Austrias captain Josef Bössner actually scored 14 points from his six programmed rides, but also rode three times as a substitute for Josef Haider, who had withdrawn after two heat wins and a fall in his third outing (heat 8). Austria only had six riders, the programmed reserve Alfred Rinzner apparently was not there, and Bössner scored another six points in his three extra rides as a replacement for the injured Haider. | ||||||
